Scottish Bible Society and Scripture Union |
|

The mission of the
Scottish Bible Society is to provide God's Word to
all people,
in a language they can understand,
in a format they can use,
and at a price they can afford.
The Society distributes Bibles, New Testaments and
other Scripture-based materials, in a range of
media, in Scotland and throughout the world.

Working with the churches, Scripture Union
aims to make God's news known to children, young
people and families and to encourage people of all
ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer.

Mary’s Church
Readers

Charlotte
Crawford
|
|
Every
weekday, during the summer months, services are held in St Mary’s
church at 12 noon.
Wednesday
is the day for our church to take this short service lasting only 4
or 5 minutes. This involves a welcome, a short bible reading, a
prayer for the day and a prayer for the visitor, finishing with
grace.
If
interested and willing to join the team of readers please get in
touch.

Visiting
Group |
Jacqueline
Waugh
|
|
The
group was set up five years ago and the purpose is for able members
of the church to visit less able or just someone in need of a visit
from a friendly face.
There
are quite a few willing volunteers who enjoy their visits. We are
always looking for people to join us and if you would like to visit
or be visited let us know.

Newsletter
|
Amanda Herriott
|
|
The
newsletter is published 8 times a year and is delivered to every
home in the congregation by the district elders. Its main purpose is
to keep members informed both about what is planned and what has
taken place, but it always contains a pastoral letter from the
minister and a contribution from the prayer secretary.
The
editor is always happy to receive articles from members and friends.
