Scripture Union and Scottish Bible Society

The mission of the Scottish Bible Society is to provide God's Word to all people,

in a language they can understand,
in a format they can use,
and at a price they can afford.

The Society distributes Bibles, New Testaments and other Scripture-based materials, in a range of media, in Scotland and throughout the world.

Working with the churches, Scripture Union aims to make God's news known to children, young people and families and to encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer.

More about The Edinburgh MoonWalk

Once again 'The Meadows' in Edinburgh plays host to the amazing moonlit marathon and half-marathon challenge and this year it will be bigger than ever with over 10,000 women and men uniting in their aim to raise awareness, get fit and have fun.

Striding out together in their uniquely decorated bras, they will be following in the footsteps of MoonWalkers from the original London event, which has attracted celebrities such as Victoria Wood, Lorraine Kelly, Koo Stark, and Nell McAndrew to support the cause.

The MoonWalk Edinburgh is organised by health charity 'alk the Walk Worldwide. It was a huge success in 2006, raising £1.6M and for its second year this challenge aims to raise over £2M for breast cancer projects in Scotland. These will include Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and the Breast Cancer Institute amongst others, to help make a tangible difference to breast cancer care for people living with cancer in Scotland.

Walk the Walk Worldwide also offer invaluable advise to their walkers and supporters by emphasising the importance of a healthy lifestyle which includes encouraging exercise and healthy eating, known as a vital part of cancer prevention. For many walkers, participation in this event is the first step towards a healthier and more natural lifestyle.
