Scottish Bible Society and Scripture Union

The mission of the Scottish Bible Society is to provide God's Word to all people,

in a language they can understand,
in a format they can use,
and at a price they can afford.

The Society distributes Bibles, New Testaments and other Scripture-based materials, in a range of media, in Scotland and throughout the world.

Working with the churches, Scripture Union aims to make God's news known to children, young people and families and to encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer.

The Guild

West Church, Haddington Guild (formed in 1932) meets every second Tuesday from October until March. It is affiliated to all other Church of Scotland Guilds.

The aim of the Guild is to ‘invite and encourage both women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and to enable them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action’.

The Guild welcomes women of all ages as members. It supports the work of all committees of the Church of Scotland by giving money to various projects each year, as well as supporting the financial well-being of their own church.

Speakers at Guild meetings cover church related / religious topics, travel, crafts, the work of different charities etc. The Guild also has social and fund-raising activities.

Unless otherwise stated all meetings take place in the West Church Hall at 7:30 p.m.
